How long will it take me to complete the PRO course?
The fastest a student has gone through the full PRO MYOB or Xero courses is 5 days (including all skill testing assessment tests).
The average time to complete a the MYOB or Xero PRO training courses is 2-3 weeks and some people take several months or simply use the course as a resource during their membership period.
If the training content in our online MYOB and Xero courses was delivered in a face to face classroom environment it would take approximately 4-5 days.

Can I go over the training materials more than once?
Yes. The MYOB & Xero course videos can be watched over and over again as often as you want. The workbooks are available as a downloaded pdf file so you can print it and go over it as often as you want.
The more you access and use the materials the faster you will complete the course.
Are their any prerequisites
It is expected that you have a PC with Internet access and that you are confident
- using a mouse,
- downloading files,
- launching programs, and
- navigating around your computer (Windows OR Mac).
You’ll complete the MYOB and Xero courses faster if you have an understanding of basic accounting / bookkeeping terminology but the course includes training videos to teach you basic accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
When can I start?
After you have completed the online enrolment form and made your payment you will receive an enrolment confirmation email confirming your enrolment and logging your enrolment in our support system.
Your student account and welcome email are processed manually by our support team and you’ll receive a welcome email and sms with passwords to access your online course.
Enrolments are processed every morning and afternoon every day.
How long can I access the MYOB & Xero courses?
You can access all courses for 12 months from your start date.
This means you can go back and review all the training material as often as you want during your access period – including new and updated training materials that are created in that time.
After the initial 12 months MYOB & Xero course access and support expires you can join the continuous access program for a low annual membership fee, which you can cancel at anytime.
Do I receive an MYOB & Xero certificate?
Yes, you will receive a certificate after you have successfully completed the online assessment questions and course evaluation.
You need to complete all assessment tests and assignments within 12 months. The certificates available are
- Certificate in MYOB and Xero,
- Certificate in MYOB and Xero Payroll, and
- Advanced Certificate in MYOB and Xero
After completing these courses you can enrol into the Cert IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting for Nationally Accredited Training and Certificate. This is only required if you want to become a Registered BAS Agent or want to go on to receive a Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
How does assessment work?
The assessment questions are located at the end of each section or at the end of each course and comprise a series of questions which may include
- YES/NO,
- multiple choice,
- multiple answer or
- matching questions.
When you submit your answers (you get 3 attempts) your answers are recorded in your student profile. When you have completed them you let us know and an assessor will confirm that you passed each test and provide you with a certificate.
When you enrol with the Industry Connect option you’ll go through an Industry Induction program that explore how MYOB and Xero is used in the real world working for small business clients.
How do I get my certificate?
Your certificate is sent to you as a full colour PDF attachment via the student support area.
What type of certificate do I receive?
The default certificate is an Certificate of Completion that confirms you have accessed the course and successfully completed the knowledge reviews. It contains a logo of National Bookkeeping so you can put it in your resume to display the fact that you are a committed learner and part of an organisation devoted to continuing education.
Can I get a nationally recognised certificate?
The training material provides training on many aspects that are relevant to bookkeeping in small businesses.
Although the training material covers many topics in the Cert IV in Bookkeeping we don’t offer that full qualification – we offer an economical way to master MYOB & Xero accounting software from a course that is created by Tertiary and Industry Accredited teachers, including a Registered BAS Agent (the official title of a registered bookkeeper).
To get a nationally recognised certificate you need to enrol into a bookkeeping course with a registered training organisation (RTO) – this is a career pathway option.
Are their any assignments for the course completion?
There are no assignments that are marked and assessed, but there are currently 7 training workbooks with step by step exercises that you can follow to enter data, reconcile and more.
Assignments and industry research are available as part of Bookkeeping Industry Connect.
Do you use real life examples in the training material?
Yes. The training workbooks contain different scenarios including a company that provides products as well as support services for those products as well as mainly service based businesses. They are taken from common work situations that you will come across every day.
What if I have a problem using the online course
Online support within the course is managed by a corporate grade support ticketing system so the support agents can keep track of all requests you make.

What if I have problems getting started with online learning?
You are welcome to contact us on the phone with help in navigating the learning site – although the welcome email contains all the information as well as a video about how to use the online learning site.
What’s included in the course?

There are videos, knowledge reviews and workbooks which contain a training materials, exercises and examples.
Do I need the software?
You don’t need the software to watch the videos and test your skill level will the knowledge reviews. We always recommend you download the software (it is available for free via a link within the course at the learning site).
Will I be a Certified Bookkeeper at the end of the course?
Although simple MYOB software skills use to be enough to be a certified bookkeeper, bookkeeping has become a profession within the accounting field.
To be qualified to lodge a customers BAS you need to be a registered BAS agent.
Do I have to download anything as part of the course?
Yes, the videos are streamed to the computer you are using, workbooks are available as a pdf download that you can save and open and print if you want to and the knowledge review tests are all completed and automatically marked online.
If you don’t have the software we provide you with a link to where you can download the software to use for free as a trial.
How long does the course take?
Our online MYOB and Xero PRO training course includes all skill levels for the price you’d expect to pay for one course (It includes Setup, Day-to-Day Transactions, Reporting & BAS and MYOB Payroll Intro) and the contents of the course is what we used to cover in approximately 4-5 full time days of training.

How do I get support?
There are multiple levels of support on course usage, training materials, case study projects as well as a student community where you can find answers and meet other students.

Will I get support after the course?
Yes, you will have access to all training material for the duration of your membership which is currently 12 months.
If it only takes you a couple weeks to complete the course you will still have access to all resources.
Ongoing training access and support is now available if you want the safety of knowing you can turn to someone if you need to.
What do I need for the course?
You need a computer, an Internet connection and a printer if you want to print the training workbooks.
Do I need an Internet connection?
Yes. Because you will watch educational videos we recommend you have a broadband internet connection.
Which version of the software do you use?
The MYOB & Xero courses are constantly being updated when there is a significant change in the content or navigation around the software and as a student you receive access to this new content.
The MYOB training courses use the MYOB AccountRight Plus (previously called MYOB Accounting Plus) because it includes all aspects of what you can do with the software, including Inventory and Payroll. There is only a Windows version.
We also include access to the training for MYOB Business Lite and PRO – this is the online version of MYOB.
Xero is one unified online system that is updated regularly and you receive training on this system – with updates as they are required.
Our Excel online training course includes content from Excel 365 versions of the Microsoft Excel software.
What if I have a Mac?
Although there are subtle differences between the versions on different platforms we use the online version which is very similar no matter which hardware platform you use.
What if I am based in New Zealand or another country?
Our bookkeeping training is focused on the Australian version and include information about the GST, BAS and payroll for Australia, but students from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Canada, UK and New Zealand have completed the course?
Microsoft Excel training can be used in any country.
Can I buy the software from you?
No – you are better off to speak to a large discounters like Harvey Norman, JB Hifi or online comparison sites like Get Price and MyShopping. Most software vendors supply the software directly to you these days via an online subscription.
You do NOT need to pay any subscription fees to do our courses as you’ll be using our sample data and case studies in your training.
Do you offer volume discounts?
If your organisation wants to purchase enrolments in volume we have a number of enrolment options available – this is only available on enrolments for 10 or more students.
