positive thinking small businessIn a couple of our recent posts, we’ve talked about… well, we’ve talked about my family, largely, but we’ve also talked about things like planning and strategising and setting goals for yourself, as well as having confidence in ourselves. Now I just want to add one last thing to this discussion: self-doubt and how easy it is to let self-doubt creep into your life.

Negative Thoughts Breed Negative Actions

I always recall an acquaintance of mine who offered to help us install a new washing machine in our home. He’d helped us pick it up and connect it up to the taps and water and so on. As he was leaving he said, as a sort of throwaway comment, “Knowing my luck, that’ll leak now.”

And true to his word, it did!

I’m not generally a superstitious person, but I couldn’t help but wonder whether by putting this self-doubt out into the universe, it became a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.

The Will Power to See Positivity

In business, I always try and have a positive attitude, because if I didn’t, there would be days when I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed in the morning. Staying positive gives me the motivation to on keeping on, even in the face of a set back.

In a recent post we mentioned how when things go wrong you need to have the confidence in yourself to be able to make a plan to take the next step. I would just add that you should also banish self-doubt from your mind and negative words from your vocabulary

Don’t let self-doubt creep into your life, because if you do, knowing your luck, they could become your famous last words…
